- We rarely have a 64 mode program on LOADSTAR 128 but this is one that
- every Commodore user ought to have. It converts various graphics formats,
- including LOADSTAR's packed ".shp" format which is used by Richard
- Derocher's SLIDE SHOW 128 program on Side Two of this issue.
-
- STB PRINT is completely menu-driven and requires little documentation.
- It allows you to navigate your drive system with DOS commands. You can view
- any picture before you convert it. You can even print it on 7-pin or 8-pin
- printers.
-
- Not that anyone's asked, but STB stands for "Shape That Baby". LOADSTAR
- traditionally called its packed format "shape" files, and when Scott Resh
- wrote the original shape packer back in 1990 he called his Geos mode packer
- "Shape That Baby". We've shortened it to STB and thanks to Walter
- Stegemiller, and Ken Robinson who added the print routines, it's now a
- normal mode program.
-
- You can't run this program from the LS 128 menu, but copy it to your
- utility disk. Anytime you want a slide show of your favorite OCP, KOALA,
- Doodle or RunPaint graphics, pack them into ".shp" files and use SLIDE SHOW
- 128. If you have a lot of graphics, you might want to pack them for
- archiving. Some 40-block files can pack down to 10 blocks!
-
- There are some brand new pictures by Walt Harned on this issue in
- ".shp" format. If you get the 1541 version, there are some on both sides.
- Check 'em out!
